MKOA Studio is a licensed architecture and interior design practice based in Denton, Texas, serving regional and remote clientele.
MKOA provides integrated services in architecture, interior design, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E), ensuring continuity from concept through execution. We partner closely with clients to deliver highly customized design solution while collaborating with a trusted network of consultants, product reps, and artisans to support each project comprehensively.

Our Team
Morgan M. Kennedy,
AIA
Founding Principal Architect and Director of DesignA graduate of the Oklahoma State University School of Architecture, Morgan was recognized as the 2015 Caudill Fellow and brings more than a decade of professional experience across residential, hospitality, retail, adaptive reuse, commercial interiors, historic preservation, education, civic, mixed-use, and multi-family projects.
Her work has received national design recognition, including an AIA Award for Interior Architecture and an AIA Honor Award for Architecture. Throughout her career, Morgan has led high-profile projects that thoughtfully integrate architecture, interiors, and community context to create durable, meaningful environments that resonate and last.
In addition to leading MKOA Studio, Morgan has served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of North Texas School of Design and is a wife and mother to two beautiful boys. MKOA is a women-owned and mother-owned business. Morgan’s personal values strongly influence the studio’s people-centered and community-focused approach to design.
Jessica Roy
Architectural AssociateJessica is a 2019 graduate of the University of Missouri–Columbia School of Architecture, Jessica has been a trusted collaborator with Morgan since 2021. She plays a key role in project production, helping ensure a high level of quality, coordination, and consistency across the firm.
With a thoughtful and methodical approach, Jessica is instrumental in translating design concepts into well-resolved documents. She has developed a strong understanding of residential architecture, with a particular appreciation for the organization, function, and relationship of spaces.
Jessica's exceptional eye for detail has helped shape many of the firm's production standards, ensuring projects are clearly communicated and executed with care.
Known for her dependable work ethic, humility, and collaborative spirit, Jessica is an essential member of the MKOA Studio team.
Katie Eng
Interior DesignerKatie is an Interior Design graduate from the University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design and has been with MKOA Studio since graduation.
Katie is an exceptional designer with a focus on seamlessly coordinated spaces, custom fabrication, and thoughtfully crafted interiors. She brings a careful, forward-thinking perspective to every project. Her work spans commercial, hospitality, and high-end residential design, with particular expertise in finish selections, custom cabinetry, integrated branding, and environmental storytelling.
Katie leads the firm's product research and discovery efforts, staying at the forefront of emerging materials, furnishings, and finish selections while cultivating strong relationships with manufacturers' representatives and bringing the latest innovations into the studio. Her creativity, attention to detail, and passion for authentic, well-crafted design makes her an integral part of the MKOA Studio team.
Desiray Rodriguez
Architectural DesignerDesiray holds a Masters from Texas Tech University Huckabee College of Architecture. A published design architect with a passion for timeless modern design, she brings a thoughtful eye for proportion, form, and detail to every project. She is passionate about creating architecture that is purposeful, enduring, and carefully connected to its context.
With a background in engineering, Desiray combines strong design instincts with technical understanding, making her a valuable collaborator throughout the design process. Whether developing concepts or refining details, she is known for her willingness to jump in wherever needed and for helping elevate the work of the entire team. Her ability to balance creative vision with thoughtful execution allows ideas to evolve into well-resolved, cohesive designs.
Known for her humility, dependability, and collaborative spirit, Desiray is an essential member of the MKOA Studio team.
Sophia Trimble
Interior Design InternSophia is a fourth-year Interior Design student at the University of North Texas College of Visual Arts and Design and has been an essential member of MKOA Studio since 2024.
Sophia is an exceptionally versatile designer whose ability to adapt and contribute across a wide range of projects makes her an invaluable resource to the studio. Supporting both architecture and interior design, she assists with everything from construction drawings and design reports to hand sketching, presentation graphics, and project photography. Whether documenting completed work, developing design concepts, or helping solve unexpected challenges, Sophia approaches every task with creativity, curiosity, and determination.
Her willingness to learn, collaborative spirit, and ability to figure out virtually anything makes her an indispensable part of the MKOA Studio team.
Brynn Rogers
Architectural InternBrynn is a third-year student in the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design at the University of Arkansas and joined MKOA Studio through her first professional internship. A Denton native with a genuine passion for her community, Brynn is deeply invested in architecture and interior design as both a craft and a lifelong pursuit.
Brynn is a talented designer who approaches every challenge with curiosity, rigor, and determination. She has quickly distinguished herself through her strong graphic communication skills, creative thinking, and thoughtful approach to design. With an impressive portfolio and an eagerness to learn, Brynn contributes to the studio's graphic communication and visual storytelling while continually expanding her understanding of the profession.
Her earnest attitude, collaborative spirit, and dedication to thoughtful design make her a valued member of the MKOA Studio team.
