A private retreat dedicated to wellness, the Areté House is an accessory dwelling that combines a luxury gym, spa, sauna, kitchenette, and overnight suite into a single, carefully composed structure.

Floor-to-ceiling glazing and expansive LaCantina pocket doors dissolve the boundary between indoors and out, opening the double-height fitness space to the surrounding pool terrace and expansive North Texas landscape.

Designed as a personalized resort overlooking the rolling plains of rural Texas, the project draws its name from the Greek word areté, the pursuit of excellence and human potential. Every space supports restoration, movement, and quiet reflection, creating an environment where daily rituals naturally flow between strength training, recovery, rest, and the outdoors.

A restrained material palette, minimalist architecture, and seamless indoor-outdoor connections allow the landscape to become an integral part of the experience. The result is a contemporary wellness retreat that balances luxury, performance, and a deep connection to place.
